Rihanna made her chart debut in August 2005 with the worldwide hit, "Pon de Replay", after signing with record label Def Jam Recordings. Her debut album, Music of the Sun, included distinct Caribbean reggae rhythms and dancehall beats fused with synthesised urban dance-pop. The album spawned one more single, "If It's Lovin' that You Want". In 2006, Rihanna released her sophomore album, entitled A Girl like Me, which contained more urban-pop songs instead of the Caribbean and tropical genres which her previous album, Music of the Sun, heavily incorporated. The album spawned four singles, including the worldwide number one songs "SOS" and "Unfaithful", as well as "We Ride" and "Break It Off", the latter of which featured guest vocals by Jamaican recording artist Sean Paul. In 2007, Rihanna collaborated with J-Status and fellow Barbadian recording artist Shontelle on the song "Roll It", before releasing her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad, which drew upon urban and European dance-pop genres. The album, including the re-issue entitled Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (2008), generated the worldwide number one single, "Umbrella", which features American rapper Jay-Z, and the global successes "Don't Stop the Music", "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia". Between 2008 and 2009, Rihanna featured on singles with Maroon 5, T.I., Jay-Z and Kanye West, and was featured on the charity record, "Just Stand Up!", alongside Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis and Beyoncé Knowles, among others.
